Impressive waiting room: tiled floors, big screen tv, leather chairs, well-equipped child's play area, comp sodas/water, and an individual portion coffeemaker. They will shuttle local residents back and forth. Spotless repair area. Family-run business by nice people. The father is hilarious and is a straight-shooter. He will work with you on price of service(s). I have never felt this comfortable, while waiting for my car to be repaired. A+ Honest-1 Auto Care.

I definitely have to echo all the previous positive comments other 'Yelpers' have bestowed upon Honest-1 in Costa Mesa. A few weeks ago, I happened to drive by for the first time, and made a mental note of a new auto shop in town...with a name that piqued some curiosity. By sheer coincidence, I had an 'Honest-1' flyer in my mailbox by the end of the week. Now, few would call a "Check Engine Light" coming on as 'serendipitous', but it essentially proved to be just that. Although my car is 15 years-old now, I take pretty good care of it, and wanted to address it right away, taking advantage of the free 'Check Engine Light" offer on that recent Honest-1 flyer. So, I brought my car in yesterday (Wednesday) around 8:30am, and Justin (who I would later learn was the owner's son--and according to Janet, the owner's daughter, we're 'doppelgangers', ha...despite the 15 year age difference) was on the ball, grabbed my keys, handed me a form in an instant, and my car was basically on-the-rack before you can say "bad carburetor". Shortly thereafter, proprietor Brad McBride and I walked out to the bay, met with Tony (one of the chief mechanics) and within a half-hour or so, the problem was diagnosed--turned out, it was a shoddy 'flux capacitor', j/k. It was my 'emission control selenoid'. (I'll have to buy two next time) At that point, it became a bit of a waiting game, as Brad tirelessly pressed local contacts and dealerships, trying to locate a pretty obscure part. In the interim, while waiting to hear back from various suppliers, the free WiFi, complimentary 'pop' (I'm from MI originally), water, and coffee, big screen TV, comfy chairs, etc. helped to pass the time. If you're able to bend Brad's ear for a minute (when he's not swamped with calls from prospective clients and walk-ins) you really get a sense of the level of dedication and care forged from his 35+ years in the business. (also a big sports buff!) Long story longer, Mr. McBride and Fam take pride in their work, and operate with consummate integrity--every concern was directly addressed, and any possible delays were thoroughly explained. To call that merely "refreshing" in the auto repair industry (or any industry, really), is to undersell it completely--their service is truly "above and beyond". The McBride's certainly have a new, lifelong patron in me! (already feel like part of the 'Honest-1"/McBride family...and I LOOK the part too, apparently) =)

I'm incredibly impressed with Honest-1's speed and service. Brad the owner is very communicative. Even though its a chain, this location is family run with Brad the owner, his daughter running the operations and his son being one of the mechanics. I'm always wary of trying new car repair shops because you always hear horror stories and never know who is trying to rip you off. I have a BMW that I can't really afford (boo hoo, right)? First world problems... Anyways, the maintenance on BMWs is a bitch, especially after 100K miles. Car maintenance shops always think if you have a BMW that you must be loaded. Well sometimes you're just an idiot who has a car above your salary range. After shopping around I found Honest-1's rates for service to be very competitive. Brad is so friendly that it almost catches you off guard (for Southern California). You think at first, this guy must have some angle. But no, they're the real deal. I'm really damn impressed and will keep coming back to these guys as long as I have my headache of a BMW. I don't spend a lot of time posting reviews, so when I take the time to bust one out, it means the place was either super legit, or super shitty. This place is the legit exception. Seriously. Go here. Be pleased. Thank me later.

These guys were a great find and pulled the trouble codes on my 2006 CVPI without charge. This pointed me towards the offending part, the seat belt pre-tensioner malfunction on the passenger side. unfortunately the dealer wants an arm AND a leg for the replacement and I can't part with the $. The cleanest shop I have ever seen and I would compare it to a Formula 1 race teams shop for organization and cleanliness. Staff was real knowledgeable and friendly.

I called a number of places to get an esitmate for getting my transmission flushed, oil change, tire rotation and alignment check. After calling three different places these guys were the cheapest. They offered a free shuttle service taking me back to work on my lunch break and picked me up right on time. The great thing was I walked in saying I need a transmission flushed and they checked it out and called me saying that I didn't need it after all. They also checked my battery and said it needed to be replaced and my cabin filter was getting pretty dirty. They didn't charge me for the alignment or the tire rotation. That is pretty impressive to me. I'm sure most places would've done the transmission flush, no questions asked whether I needed it or not. Every other place was going to charge me for the alignment and the tire rotation. Brad the owner was very personable and Luis the mechanic was friendly as well. I will definitely be going back to this place for my future business. I referred my family over to these guys as well. Its also a nice perk that the waiting area is very comfortable with a big screen tv to pass the time away. Thanks Brad and Honest-1 Auto Care!

This place was absolutely amazing! They were beyond understanding, patient and more than accommodating. My battery died yesterday afternoon, and after calling around for a few hours, Honest-1 was the most decently priced (including taxes and service) around as well as being able to assist me later that same day. They gave me the same price as they gave me over the phone and were upfront about what charges and fees covered what. It really was amazing, and the front staff was so polite, kinda and incredibly upstanding. I will definitely be coming back to this place again for my auto maintenance and anything else that crosses my way. Thank you so much Honest-1

This place is legit! Really cool atmosphere inside and they were super friendly. They helped me out big time with my car and gave me a great price. Definitely going back!

Best customer service. My repair was done quickly and accurately. Highly recommend.
